Kit and Ace is steering itself in a new direction without its famed Kitsilano-based co-founders.

The luxury athleisure brand has announced that Shannon and J.J. Wilson — the wife and son of Lululemon founder Chip Wilson — are no longer involved in the company that they created in 2014.

The duo has been replaced by members of the Kit and Ace management team that acquired the company for an undisclosed amount and will now be led by CEO George Tsogas.

“We are excited to begin this next chapter in Kit and Ace’s history as owners, leaders and employees” said Tsogas. “We have built a team of passionate and experienced experts in various fields that are coming together under one vision and we love that our guests are connecting with our new apparel and the vision we have for this brand.”

As part of the announcement Kit and Ace reported increasing sales momentum and its first months of profitability since being founded.

The company credits its positive results to their vision of solving the needs of the modern commuter and strong demand for its Navigator Collection, a technical apparel line that focuses on giving bike commuters office-ready clothing options.
