The City of Vancouver is reminding residents that all short-term rental operators must have a valid business licence and include that number in their Airbnb listings by August 31st to avoid fines up to $1,000.

A short-term rental is a home, or room within, rented for less than 30 days at a time. The home must be your principal residence.

The fine to list a short-term rental without a valid license is $1,000 per offence and the City encouraging Vancouverites to report anyone operating without a licence.

SPECIAL OFFER: Kitsilano.ca will take a slightly different angle choosing instead to highlight licensed Airbnb properties in the neighbourhood via our highly trafficked VISIT directory.

So, if you’re a law-abiding Airbnb host with a great short-term rental in Kitsilano, get in touch.
