For over 80% of the world, soccer is the top sport. Thursday, June 14, marks the official start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and soccer mania worldwide.

Even though the Canadian men’s national team didn’t qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Vancouverites still love to watch the tournament along with the rest of the world.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place in Russia from June 14 to July 15, and it’s going to be the biggest sporting event of the summer, so mark your calendar and make some plans. But remember that their is a 10-hour time difference between Moscow and Vancouver, so they’re going to have to be breakfast plans.

We’ve compiled a list of great venues for some early morning soccer action in Kitsilano.

The Cove Pub

The Cove Pub will be showing all 11am games on 14 HD TVs all tournament long. For the final weekend they’ve be open at 7am on July 14th for the third place playoff and 8am on July 15th for the final with breakfast & a coffee for $15.

The Manchester Pub

The Manchester shows English Premier League all year round and they will be playing tonnes of World Cup games this summer on their 11 TVs and one projector screen. The Manchester welcomes soccer fans with open arms and World Cup branded doors.

The Bimini

This Donnelly Group restaurant is an ideal place to grab some food and cheer for your favourite team with all day happy hour which includes $4 beers and $5 food.

Colony Bar Kits

Colony is open for all 11am games and will also open early for selected games. Grab yourself a booth and get excited about some soccer with tons of beers from local breweries.

The Regal Beagle

A Canucks fan favourite, the Beagle will be playing World Cup games this summer. They have wings for $7 a pound, $5 beers, and $6 breakfast. Call to reserve a table ahead of the games — this place gets busy.

Darby’s Pub

Darby’s is open for all the 9:00am World Cup games and will be offering $5.50 20oz pints and brunch. Expect big crowds and a rowdy atmosphere. No tickets or reservations needed.
