If slow-roasted and oh-so-tender porchetta sounds like your kind of savoury meal, stop by the newly opened Gobble restaurant, located in the former Gypsy Rose spot on West 4th Avenue.

Gobble touts itself as a New American restaurant with a simple concept of offering satisfying comfort food.

Hungry patrons get to pick from a selection of meats including steak and porchetta, then they can add a side dish such as a seasonal vegetable, salad, or rice pilaf, and finally, a flavourful sauce. Prices are reasonable at $11 (regular size) and $15 (large size) per plate, and all Gobble’s menu items are gluten-free and dairy-free.

Inside Gobble’s modern space, local artist Jonathan Tiong has created some interesting murals on the walls, and you can easily dine in or just do take-out there. As they’re still in a soft-launch mode, Gobble is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 5pm till 8pm, sometimes a little later.
