The annual rankings for Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants is out and two Kitsilano eateries made the cut.

As voted on by food critics, leading chefs, legendary restaurateurs, elite diners and food fanatics from across the country Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants is the definitive list of the best restaurants in Canada.

While Vancouver was only represented once in the Top 10 with Japanese-Italian supper club Kissa Tanto slipping in at 10th, a number of Vancouver restaurants were acknowledged as well including two in the ‘hood.

Chef Angus An has an almost impossibly busy workload. He just added Sen Pad Thai on Granville Island to his burgeoning group of casual eateries—which already included Freebird Chicken Shack and Longtail Kitchen in New Westminster and his Chinatown noodle shop Fat Mao. Loyal clients living nearby in Kits Beach drop in with astonishing regularity for crunchy buttermilk fried chicken, chilled oysters showered in shaved foie gras and seemingly simple bowls of shelled mussels boldly flavoured by layered broths, foams and gels with torn chunks of toasted brioche for dipping.
