Here’s what’s on this weekend in Kitsilano, from live performances to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, plus a traditional Coast Salish weaving workshop opportunity.

Friday, March 16th

The Kits House on West 7th Avenue is presenting A Beautiful View tonight, a show by Naked Goddess Productions and acclaimed Canadian playwright Daniel MacIvor. It’s a simple and beautiful story about love and friendship. It’s opening night tonight and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost $27 and there will be wine and refreshments afterwards.

Or head to the St. James Hall for live music by Annie Lou, presented by the Rogue Folk Club. Lou plays the banjo and guitar, with folk, country, and bluegrass melodies. The show starts at 8pm and tickets are $26.

Saturday, March 17th

Dress up green, eat green, and drink green. It’s St. Patrick’s Day today! Celebrate it at Kitsilano’s very own Irish pub, the Wolf and Hound on West Broadway. Their St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza starts at 1pm with live music all day and night.

Sunday, March 18th

The Museum of Vancouver is hosting a Coast Salish Weaving Workshop with instructors Chief Janice George and Buddy Joseph. This is a rare opportunity to learn Coast Salish twine and twill weaving techniques. Create your own wool wall hanging to take home, woven on a hand-made loom. Discover the historical and cultural significance, art form, and practices of Coast Salish wool weaving in this all-day workshop. Tickets include a  complimentary lunch and free admission to Haida Now, which opens March 16th, as part of this workshop. Tickets are $145, and the workshop is from 10am till 4pm.

Another Rogue Folk Club concert is on at the St. James Hall tonight, this time it’s a performance by Cuban-born, Canadian-raised Carlos Del Junco who’s an expert with the harmonica. Show starts at 8pm and tickets are $26.
