Gloomy, rainy days call for some serious comfort food. Pizza it is then.

Here are the best pizza options in Kitsilano, besides making it yourself, of course (Whole Foods sells the dough and fixings if you’re so inclined).

Eat-in

Head out tonight with your friends and try cozy and laid back ski-shack-like Corduroy on Cornwall Avenue. With live music, craft beers, and creative thin-crust pizzas loaded with fresh gourmet toppings including organic lamb sausage, butternut squash, or blue cheese, just to name a few, you can eat your blues away here (they also have another location – Corduroy Pie Company on West 16th Avenue).

If you have kids with you, there’s no better family-friendly pizza place then the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company on West 1st Avenue with their play area, healthy pizza options, salads, and pastas, and good wines for mom. For a date night try NOVO on Burrard Street, a classy Italian wine bar with excellent Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas. Their meatballs are delicious as well.

By-the-slice

You can’t really beat Nat’s New York Pizzeria on West Broadway for a nice big single slice of pie. Students flock here during lunch time as the deals are budget-friendly – it’s usually under $4 or $5 a slice or you can get two slices plus a drink for $8. Often there’s a vegetarian choice as well as the usual pepperoni and cheese types.

Delivery

Sometimes you just want it all done for you. A Kitsilano institution since 1967, Olympia Pizza on West Broadway offers a friendly, fast, and free delivery of hot, thick-crust pizza with all your favourite toppings. They also have all the authentic Greek specialities that they are known for, too, such as calamari, souvlaki, and roast leg of lamb.
