Some of you might be getting kind of tired of summer, or maybe not.

Regardless, this is no time to slack off on an exercise routine even if you just want to wear baggy sweaters and stuff your face with poutine. Here are five ways to stay fit in Kitsilano.

Kitsilano Community Centre Gym

The fitness centre at the KCC may lack in the aesthetics department, but it makes up for it by providing plenty of good gym equipment at affordable prices. Drop-in rates are $6 and there are several types of passes available for further savings. Bonus – this gym is open late, often till 11pm which makes it a great option for evening workouts when it’s too dark to exercise outside.

Moksha Yoga Vancouver

Working out in a heated (36.5c), indoor space may not sound so appealing now, but come fall (and the inevitable gloom and rain), a hot sweaty yoga session will be the perfect remedy for seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Bonus – Friday nights they offer a Moksha Karma class which is by donation (minimum $5 as it goes to charity).

Pacific Spirit Regional Park

If the weather behaves, nearby Pacific Spirit Regional Park has a huge number of amazing trails for all walking, jogging, and running skills. Even if there’s a bit of a drizzle, the tree canopy will try to keep you dry. Note: it’s recommended to venture into large parks like these with a companion, fur-clad or otherwise.

Rep1 Fitness

Need encouragement and motivation? Working out with a personal trainer from Rep1 Fitness is like having your best friend alongside you – except this best friend never complains, never runs out of energy, and he/she knows way more about fitness and health than either of you combined. Tip: we recommend Trainer David Moloney for his excellent spirit and endurance.
