Judgement day for the Little Yellow Schoolhouse in Kitsilano was to come today but it looks like it will stand another day.

The fate of the 100+ year-old yellow schoolhouse on the grounds of newly rebuilt General Gordon Elementary school rested in the hands of a single, government-appointed school board trustee.

That trustee, Dianne Turner, decided today to put off a decision for now and Vancouver School Board officials will meet with heritage representatives before making a final decision.

The Vancouver School Board faced a staff recommendation to demolish the structure in March 2016 but sought to find creative ways to save it including community programming or as a youth centre or museum.
