The Vancouver Park Board is set to begin round two of a citywide consultation on People, Parks, and Dogs next week.

This will complete the community engagement that began last year allowing the Board to chart a path toward greater shared use of parks for the next decades.

They have received more than 4,000 responses from the public in the first round of this consultation and now have draft recommendations to share in round two.

In round two of the consultation, they’re asking for your feedback on the recommendations including priority locations for off-leash areas like Hadden Park in Kitsilano and the removal of time restrictions at off-leash areas where appropriate.

“The Park Board is keen to hear the public’s feedback on these recommendations,” said Park Board Chair Michael Wiebe. “We look forward to finalizing a strategy this spring that will improve the shared use of our parks by people with and without dogs.”

If you’re interested in participating, take their online survey and join one of their eight drop-in open houses and small group discussions throughout the city.

The round two consultation period runs from January 31 to March 10, 2017.
