If we inspired you to run a marathon in 2017 but haven’t got around to training for it, we’ve got another opportunity for you.

The Alternate Run Study – Vancouver is recruiting 150-180 experienced runners to train for the Scotiabank Half Marathon on June 25th.

This research study is being conducted through the BC Sports Medicine Research Foundation, UBC, NIKE, and Ladysport in Kitsilano (but is open to both men and women).

The study will look at how different footwear and training programs affect the risk of injury in experienced runners going through a 13-week half marathon training program.

All eligible participants will receive complimentary Nike Running shoes to train in for the study, a 13-week training program with groups runs out of Ladysport in Kits, and the chance to win one of 50 Garmin Forerunner GPS running watches. Not bad odds considering the trial is limited to 180 runners.
