What do you do with your Christmas tree after its spangles are no longer needed?

Every year, the City of Vancouver and volunteers from the Lions Club help you recycle your Christmas tree by providing Fargo-style Christmas tree chipping events in January.

After the trees are chipped, they are taken to the Vancouver landfill to be composted. Cash and non-perishable food donations collected at the events will be distributed to local charities.

All you have to do is remove decorations and tinsel from your tree before bringing it to a tree chipping event.

In our neighbourhood, you can head over to Kitsilano Beach parking lot at Cornwall Avenue and Arbutus Street on Saturday, January 7th or Sunday, January 8th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
