Forget those Kinder Eggs and highly addictive Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Instead, choose from handcrafted, all-natural goodies for your Easter egg hunt from these local shops in and around our Kitsilano neighbourhood.

1. Surprise Easter Eggs

Who doesn’t love surprises? Especially in chocolate form. These luxury handcrafted chocolate eggs from none other than Kitsilano’s Thomas Haas on West Broadway are filled with little chocolate treats and come in three different sizes. Prices for these eggs range from $19 to $49.

2. Easter Egg and Sheep-shaped Cookies

South of our neighbourhood on MacKenzie Street and West 33rd Ave you’ll find these delectable sugar cookies from Butter Baked Goods. Besides their sweet cookies (and macarons, and hot cross buns, and gorgeous cakes, and…), Butter Baked Goods also makes those wonderfully fluffy, all-natural marshmallows in a whole range of Easter pastel colours – perfect for anyone’s basket. Prices vary.

3. Blublulemon Egg

One of our all-time favourite chocolate shops, Chocolate Arts on West 3rd Ave, never lets us down during the Easter season and this year they’ve come up with a new version of their marshmallowy cookie egg – the Blublulemon Egg. It’s half a chocolate egg cookie filled with organic blueberry compote and lemon marshmallow, wrapped in foil. Their other flavours this year are the classic PB&J and crunchy Caramel Cashew. $4.50 each.

4. Peanut Butter Bunnies

They’re back! These little milk and dark chocolate beauties from Daniel Le Chocolate Belge are filled with organic peanut butter and come in a box of 12 for $8.95.  Daniel’s has two locations near us, one on West 10th Ave in Point Grey and one on Granville Street at West 12th Ave. Daniel’s also makes amazing truffle eggs, gooey marshmallow eggs, and sea salt caramel eggs in foil.
