AnnaLena‘s new and delicious brunch menu has inspired us to seek out the best brunch spots in the neighbourhood. With only a handful of summer Sundays left, it’s time to start scheduling in those brunch dates to make sure you don’t miss any opportunity for morning Caesars in the sun.

Here are some of our favourite spots for summer brunch in Kitsilano right now:

AnnaLena

AnnaLena’s brunch menu is all about the Eggs Bendict. With three delicious options to choose from, you’re better off bringing a group so you can each get one and try a taste of them all. Just as exciting as the food, though, is the breakfast cocktail menu. For a gourmet Caesar in Kits, this is the place to be (lemon basil vodka – that’s all we’ll say).

Au Comptoir

New(ish) to the neighbourhood, Au Comptoir is a hustle and bustle of genuine Parisian flair and fare. First, you have to order one of their specialty coffees, because you won’t find a better one anywhere. Second, delve into one of their light-as-air omelets, served up with salad and fries. Third, go all out and treat yourself to a pastry for dessert (brunch without dessert will likely never happen again).

Burgoo

Known primarily for its hearty soups and sandwiches, Burgoo also does a delicious comfort-style brunch on the weekends. Our favourite option on the menu is the cinnamon French toast, served with caramelized apples. Order it alongside a coffee and a mimosa, and you’re good to go for the rest of the day.

The King’s Head

This might seem like an odd choice because the food is, well, not that good. But on weekends, The King’s Head serves a Beggar’s Brunch: eggs, toast, sausages, bacon, hash browns, and bottomless coffee for $6. And while it’s not that good, it’s not bad either. In fact, it hits the spot bang on the mark after a rough night when all you need is some grease, some caffeine, and some food that can be paid for with the change at the bottom of your purse.

Chewie’s

Another potential surprise on this list, as it’s known for its oysters and other seafood more than anything else, Chewie’s offers a delicious brunch. The best part is that you can enjoy it on a patio close to the water. The menu is New Orleans style, featuring options like Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles for the famished, and the Greek yogurt and berry parfait for the not-so-hungry.
