Friday, May 8th

Billy Bishop Branch VE Day Dinner
Celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe at the Billy Bishop Branch 176 Royal Canadian Legion in Kitsilano. There will be a signature roast beef dinner from 6pm-7:30pm with live entertainment by The SAX of Us from 7:30pm-10:30pm. Beer and wine will be just $5. Nuba Anniversary
Nuba in Kitsilano is throwing a Lebanese Cabaret Celebration to mark their 3rd anniversary and you are invited. Enjoy exceptional food, drinks, and entertainment while celebrating three years in the heart of Kitsilano. From 6pm-9pm.

Saturday, May 9th

Walk with your Doc
Take steps towards your good health and get moving with BC’s doctors. Join local Kitsilano doctors and other healthcare professionals for a free, short, and fun community walk that starts at Kits Beach at 10am. Receive a free pedometer at the event, plus win great prizes with a photo contest using #WalkWithYourDoc. Sign up at walkwithyourdoc.ca

Jericho Sailing Centre Open House
Discover all of the low cost programs, facilities, and services available for dinghy sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, ocean kayaking, and rowing at the Jericho Sailing Centre. While there, receive member discounts on food and drinks at the onsite Galley Patio & Grill! Everyone is welcome to this free event. From noon till 4pm.

Earthquake Preparedness
Emergencies and disasters can strike without warning, making it essential to be prepared. In partnership with the City of Vancouver, this session at the Kitsilano Branch Library will help you prepare for any type of emergency or natural disaster. Learn how to develop a family emergency plan, how to perform a home hazard hunt, how to create emergency kits, and more. From 10am-11:30am. Free.

Sunday, May 10th

Mother’s Day
We have given you some great Mother’s Day ideas already, and here are a few more: Chewies on West 1st is hosting a Domaine Chandon New Orleans-style Mother’s Day Jazz Brunch from 10am-3pm. Rocky Mountain Flatbread, also on West 1st, is serving a complimentary warm double chocolate brownie with homemade ice-cream to all Moms when they order a main course on this day. And, Terra Breads on West 4th will be featuring a special raspberry chocolate and vanilla black currant cupcake and a ham & Gruyere croissant for Mother’s Day.
