Nuba’s Kitsilano location is throwing a Lebanese Cabaret Celebration to mark their third anniversary and you’re invited. Since coming to neighbourhood, Nuba’s healthy comfort food philosophy coupled with the taverna’s unique ambiance has made the location a popular locale in Kitsilano.

Nicknamed “Nuba Village”, the restaurant and event space boasts 5 unique, beautifully lit rooms, which can accommodate everything from intimate sit-down dinners for 2 to cocktail parties for 150. In addition to winning multiple honours in the Georgia Straight’s 2015 Golden Plate awards, the space was recently featured on the popular Food Network program You Gotta Eat Here.

“We’re extremely grateful for the support we’ve received from the neighbourhood in the three years we’ve been in Kitsilano,” says co-owner Victor Bouzide. “We’re looking forward many more years here and hope the whole neighbourhood can make it out to the celebration.”

Attendees can expect complimentary cocktails and canapés, doors prizes from businesses in the neighbourhood, and live music and performance from world music virtuoso Gord Grdina and the Luciterra Fusion Bellydance company.

Grdina’s name is no stranger to music lovers, this Juno Award-winning player, in addition to being a longstanding member of Dan Mangan + Blacksmith, is the leading force behind Arabic classical music ensembles the Gordon Grdina Trio, Box Cutter, Sangha, and Haram.

Joining Grdina in the festivities is the Luciterra Fusion Bellydance company. A favourite at music events and festivals in Vancouver and beyond, this troupe has been lauded for their powerful, dynamic performances, which put a contemporary twist on traditional Middle Eastern bellydance.

So join them on Friday, May 8 and enjoy exceptional food, drinks, and entertainment while celebrating three years in the heart of Kitsilano.
