1. The Apple Festival at UBC – October 18-19, 11 am – 4 pm

The UBC Apple Festival is a great opportunity to discover more about this delicious fruit and explore the beautiful UBC Botanical Gardens. 2. Free Movies at Cineplex – October 18, Doors Open 8.30 am

Enjoy a morning of free movies, as well as popcorn, soft drinks and select candy for $2 each, this Saturday, October 18, as part of Cineplex’s National Community Day. All proceeds raised benefit Free the Children. Participating theatres include Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver and Cineplex Odeon International Village. 3. Vancouver Halloween Parade 2014 – October 19, 12 – 3 pm

The inaugural Vancouver Halloween Parade, a family oriented parade with marching bands, horses, vehicles, floats and over 2000 participants, takes place in downtown Vancouver on Granville and Howe this Sunday. Get details and a route map here.

4. The Last Kitsilano Farmer’s Market of the Year – October 19, 10 am – 2 pm

Come out and enjoy the last Kitsilano Farmers Market of the year, this Sunday, at the parking lot of Kits Community Centre. Pick up local fare, grab a drink and some delicious food for lunch and enjoy local musicians while the kids play in the playground.
