The PNE, Vancouver’s 100-year-old version of a traditional country fair, takes place through Sept. 1. Crowds turn out for the rides, exhibits and the over-the-top, disgustingly-decadent eats including deep-frin\ed macaroni balls, deep-fried oreos, deep-fried mars bars, funnel cake, ostrich sliders, and two-foot hot dogs.

2. Food Cart Festival at Olympic Village

If you haven’t made it out yet, do not miss the  last day of Vancouver’s original food cart festival with over 20 talented Vancouver street food vendors, a flea market, DJs and much more. Food Cart Fest takes place Sunday, August 31, from noon to 5pm at 215 West 1st Avenue between the Cambie Bridge and Olympic Village.

3. Food Cart Fest Sunset Beach Party

On August 29, from 5pm until sundown, Sunset Beach will be transformed into Venice Beach, California. You can find  food carts, roller disco, a craft market, music and more at the new Sunset Beach Socials this summer.

Vancouver’s one and only BBQ & Chili festival is back Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31. Twelve Gastown restaurants will compete in a grilling showdown.
