I love clearing out the kids’ closets when the seasons change and packing up the baby gear and toys we no longer use or I can’t live with anymore (a chirping mechanical hamster and really loud xylophone were in the bag this month).

Local classifieds are a great forum for selling baby equipment and toys. In Kitsilano there are even more options for passing on gently used kids’ stuff to new families who will enjoy them.

1. The Salvation Army stores takes kids’ clothes, books, toys and sporting goods including bicycles and scooters.

2. Baby Go Round is a fabulous non-profit that accepts gently used baby equipment (including cribs and car seats made after January 2012), clothes for newborn to 4 year olds, and toys, and passes them on to families in Greater Vancouver that need them.  Their office is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m and the last Saturday of every month from 10-1pm.
