The most family-friendly way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Vancouver is the 10th annual Vancouver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which takes place 11am Sunday, March 16. Over 200,000 folks will don shamrock green and line the parade route to cheer on 2000+ parade participants, including award-winning pipe and drum bands, Celtic musicians, Scottish and Irish dancers, acrobats, stilt walkers, vintage cars, the Vancouver police motorcycle drill team and mounted horse drill teams. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will follow the same route as in 2013, beginning on Howe and Davie, proceeding north along Howe to Georgia, and ending at Georgia & Granville Streets.

You will also find more low key entertainment throughout the day March 15-16 at the Celtic Village & Street Market on Granville Street and Robson Square in downtown Vancouver.

The most festive bit? Both of these celebrations are free to attend. Happy St. Paddy’s Day, Kits-dwellers!
