Mayor Robertson Plugs Khatsahlano! Festival & Decides to Move to Kitsilano

“West 4th is open for business and better than ever,” Mayor Gregor Robertson declared at the July 11 press party to celebrate the end of construction on West 4th and the upcoming Khatsahlano! Music and Arts Festival ( a 10 block street party with 50 bands) that takes place on West 4th Avenue on Saturday, July 13.

Gregor went on to add that West 4th is one of the city’s gems, “a fantastic place for people to shop and enjoy.” That must be why he’s moving to the neighbourhood.

Mayor Robertson’s new home is a duplex on some of Kitsilano’s best waterfront property and right at the end of the proposed Point Grey-Cornwall bike lane. The Kitsilano house, listed online for $1.488-million, was formerly owned by local luxury auto dealer Brian Jessel. It was reportedly purchased by Robertson for $1.575-million.

Did the City of Vancouver buy the home at the end of Point Grey road that people are saying has been bought by the mayor of Vancouver? Very sly on the part of the mayor to agitate for the bike lane and planning to be a resident on the road that was at the centre of heated discussions regarding the road now is for rich people only.
