Vancouver-based Coastal Contacts plans to open a Clearly Contacts branded retail store in the space previously occupied by 49th Parallel Coffee.
49th Parallel Coffee moved up a block to West 4th and Yew Street and is now also the home of Lucky’s Doughnuts.
The Clearly Contacts location at 2152 West 4th Avenue will be the company’s second offline location in Vancouver. The online eyewear retailer opened its first North American brick-and-mortar store at 1049 Robson Street (pictured) in mid-March.
While Coastal Contacts signed a short-term lease for the Robson Street space, the Kitsilano store will be “more permanent” than the Robson Street one and should be open for the back-to-school rush. The Robson Street store exceeded the company’s expectations. Up next, they plan to expand to Calgary and Toronto.
