Another mobile phone store moves to West 4th

1936

West 4th has recently become a hub of telecommunication. Telus just opened a new store at 2163 West 4th, and a new player, Koodo Mobile (Telus owned), is also set to open on the street between Yew and Maple. These companies join Bell, Wind Mobile, and Wirelesswave.

Personally, I am pleased to see more competition in this space. After a “water damage” issue to my iphone in the fall (to the guy at the Apple store…yes it really was just a few drops from a water bottle but whatever…) I seized the opportunity to leave Fido for Wind Mobile where I run an android phone at literally half the cost.

There is no denying that these new companies are offering some pretty incredible deals. With unlimited talk and text plans advertised at around $20-30/month, Kitsilano residents might be able to scoop up a deal when Koodo Mobile opens next month.
