The annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival is celebrating its 35th year July 13 – 15. Over 50 musical artists, food vendors and artisans will flock to Jericho Beach Park for this 3-day, music event.

Monday, June 11, is your deadline to get your early bird tickets. An adult weekend pass purchased before June 11 is already cheaper than buying Saturday and Sunday tickets. Plus, Friday night is included. Early bird adult weekend passes are $135, and for students, just $80 ($75 and $60 for single day tickets at early bird rates).

Although you may not have every Folk Festival artist loaded in your iPod, you will likely recognize some of the headliners including Vancouver’s own Dan Magnan, Hey Rosetta, Ani DiFranco, K’NAAN, The Head and the Heart to name a few. Check out the full artist festival line-up here. As well we will be sharing some artist and group profiles as we lead up to the Folk Festival start. As a 3-year folk festival vet, I think it’s money well spent.

If you have never been to Vancouver’s Folk Festival here is a snapshot of what you can expect: bikes, bracelets, hula hoops, beer gardens, backpacks, picnics, international food fare, shopping dancing, sunny skies (fingers crossed) and great music. It is always on my summer must do list and with this year is no exception. Tickets can be purchased here.
