Westbeach is going out of business

5238

For the last 30 years, Kitsilano’s Westbeach, “The Canadian snowboarding original”  has been a key player in Canada’s snowboarding and skateboarding culture. Unfortunately, their long life has come to an end. Like many other businesses along West 4th, Westbeach is closing for good.

Everything is now at least 50% off (even this year’s snowboards).

Funny how things go. Westbeach was the brainchild of Chip Wilson creator of Lululemon. He sold the biz and took a non-compete for a few years before starting Lulu and the rest is history.

Goes to show that there’s more to success in business than acquiring a cool concept.

This is not true at all! Westbeach lives!

Just to clarify this is just the STORE which had an agreement to use the Westbeach name and was not actually owned by them… Kind of confusing we know, but we’ve got a ton of fresh outerwear coming out next season and our team riders are out killing it so stay tuned for updates!

Thanks Laura. That is is very confusing for consumers, especially given the advertising regarding their closure.
