Cypress Mountain now open for 2011/2012 ski season

Cypress Mountain is the first ski area in British Columbia to open for the 2011/2012 ski season. It’s the earliest the resort has ever opened, thanks to a little bit of early snowfall and a whole lot of effort from their snowmaking team, which produced 30-centimetres of manmade snow. Get detailed conditions here.

Mount Seymour has 21 of the required 70 centimetre snow base it needs to open. Grouse Grind is closed for the season and Grouse Mountain ski area could open any day. Whistler Blackcomb is hoping to open in time for the American Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 24.
