The video below was made with Linda Milburn as part of the Vancouver Stories 125 digital storytelling project. As part of the City’s 125th anniversary celebrations, the Vancouver Park Board hosted a team of digital media artists in Vancouver communities, gathering stories and images to capture the oral histories and memories of local residents.

West Point Grey Community Centre will host a celebration screening of numerous stories on Tuesday Oct 18th starting at 7:30pm. For further info contact the team at vancouverstories125@gmail.com or call 604.257.8149 and leave a message.

Linda made this video with Kitsilano resident Suzanne Ahearne. As part of the Vancouver Stories project, Linda wrote about her life in Kits, gathered her favourite photos, recorded neighbourhood sounds on an iPod and Suzanne recorded her voicetrack and worked with her to produce this video.

Here Linda—or Lulu as she’s known to her family and many good friends—takes us inside ‘her wonderful life here in Kits.’ She has lived in a baby-blue heritage duplex in Kitsilano for almost 30 years. Her front porch now faces into the alley but at one time, before Cornwall Street was developed, her porch looked out onto Kits Beach.
