Organizers of Car-Free Vancouver Day have confirmed that the 2011 edition of the street festival will happen across the city on Father’s Day – June 19th.

Once again, the designated areas for the event will be Kitsilano, Main Street, the West End, and Commercial Drive. According to an online post, last year’s Car-Free Vancouver Day “brought over 250,000 people out to play in the streets, and to change how they see their city. This year we hope to add more nodes and open more space for more people.”

The event is volunteer-run, and organizers say they will need 600 volunteers this year.
