The forecast is calling for rain for the next little while, possibly with a brief respite on Friday and Saturday.  That means it’s time to start thinking about other ways to spend your time besides beach volle yball, hiking, and the like.   As a librarian/archivist in training, I feel compelled to recommend the programs offered at your friendly neighbourhood branch of the Vancouver Public Library

This branch offers a variety of programs catering to everyone from babies to families to adults to teens obsessed with the latest Frank Miller.  If you haven’t set foot in a library since the day you were handed your most recent academic qualification and proceeded to get wasted in carefree celebration, you might be surprised to learn that the library doesn’t have to be a painful den of iniquity.  Librarians are eager to help you track down something you’ll find interesting or useful, but they’re just as happy to let you pass some quiet time scanning the shelves.  You might find that reading is pretty fun when it’s not mandatory!
