If you like to shop at Capers/Whole Foods in Kits, plan on doing your big shopping trip on Thursday, February 9 when 5% of sales will be donated to Kitsilano’s FarmFolk CityFolk.
The cost of my grocery bill at Capers/Whole Foods sometimes makes me nauseous so at least this is one day I can feel good about it! FarmFolk CityFolk will also have a table if you are interested in learning more about their work cultivating a local, sustainable food system.

Following last year’s A Fresh Event, this year The World in a Garden and FarmFolk CityFolk present A Plan BEE Event, Thursday Nov. 10, at 7 p.m., at the Ridge Theatre. The evening features a screening of Queen of the Sun, a multi-award winning film about the global bee crisis. Attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy some great local food and drink, speak with folks in our community working with bees and pollination and then enjoy a great film and guest speakers. Everyone will also leave with a gift bag full of goodies!
Tickets are $29 with all proceeds going to FarmFolk CityFolk and The World in a Garden. The event is made possible thanks to sponsorship from Festival Cinemas and Whole Foods Market. Tickets are currently available from the Festival Cinemas website and Capers/Whole Foods Market.
