Clogged-up bridges, never-ending line-ups at your favourite brunch spot, people forgetting their umbrella etiquette – life in the city can take its toll on anyone.

Here are three ways (in Kits) to get out of the city for a much-needed break, without ever leaving it.

Wander along the lonely aisles of the Kitsilano Library, take in the historical treasures at the Museum of Anthropology, or let your skin feel the tropical humidity at the Bloedel Conservatory.

Find True Escapism

Use up two or three of your precious hours and catch a new flick at Fifth Avenue Cinemas (how’s the popcorn there these days?). Get some solo time floating in a super salty space pod or practice your adho mukha svanasana (downward-facing dog pose) in a cedar sauna suite at HÄLSA Spa. Or let out your inner-astronaut and be prepared to be humbled at one of the Planetarium’s superb star shows.
