Kitsilano is on the City of Vancouver’s shortlist for getting additional off-leash areas for dogs.

Draft recommendations prepared by city for a proposed strategy on how residents (with and without dogs) can better share parks lists six neighbourhoods that are densely populated and under-served.

The under-served neighbourhoods are the West End, Downtown, Fairview, Mount Pleasant, Grandview-Woodland, and Kitsilano.

The city’s proposed strategy seeks to ensure that residents can reach off-leash areas within a kilometre or 15-minute walk.

In round two of the consultation, the City is asking for your feedback and that includes prioritizing the under-served neighbourhoods.

So if you would like to see more off-leash areas in Kitsilano, this is your chance to be heard. Take their online survey now and join one of their eight drop-in open houses throughout the city.

The first open house will be held this Wednesday, February 8th at the Kitsilano Community Centre (2690 Larch Street) from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
