Trying to save for that terrifically huge down payment? Thinking of your RRSP contributions? Expenses coming up for Valentine’s Day? We hear you. So here are some budget deals to take advantage of in Kitsilano to help you out.

3 cheap, fun things to do in Kitsilano

1. By donation hot yoga
Every Friday night from 9pm-10pm, Moksha Yoga Vancouver on Alma Street and West 4th has a drop-in Moksha Karma class for a minimum donation of $5. The proceeds of your donation will be given to a chosen charity that varies monthly. Moksha Yoga is similar to Bikram Yoga but it has quite a few more poses and the class atmosphere has a far more laid-back approach. Give it a try.

2. Cheap movie night
Our beloved retro Fifth Avenue Cinemas may have had a recent reno (making it for 19+ only now due to the alcohol license), but they still offer discounted prices ($7.99) every Tuesday for a new flick. The Revenant, The Danish Girl, Brooklyn, Spotlight, and Anomalisa are currently showing.

3. Italian meal deal
Some of you may already be familiar with this affordable pasta spot, Basil Pasta Bar, on Davie Street. They now have a location in Kitsilano, on Yew Street, a few blocks from the beach. They offer many customizable pasta dishes for under $10. Portions are generous, you can choose from gluten-free options, and they also have a delivery service for an additional $5.
