Kitsilano's very own blog.

Call for Kitsilano bloggers

Kitsilano.ca needs more volunteer writers. We want to hear from you. We’re looking for people who have a distinct voice and an area of expertise. Your goal will be to start a conversation with the community—entertaining or heated.

Posts will be 250 words max.  You can use your real name or blog under a pen name such as “Road Warrior.” It’s up to you.

Here are some areas that need coverage:

1) Bicycle commuting (Rant about traffic, share a cycling anecdote, address safety issues etc., posting once a week.)

2) Food (Restaurant news and reviews. There’s a glut of amateur food writers out there, so  the Kits foodie must have either hot scoop or a new angle. Seasonal recipes from an ardent locavore are also of interest.)

3) Community news (Parks, schools, pets, parking, bylaws–you name it. If there’s a change in the existing facilities, institutions or regulations, you’re in the know.)

4) Gardening (What to plant when, green thumb problem solving.)

5) Store openings and closings (The retail real estate turnover in this ‘hood gets you hot and bothered.)
