Christy Clark might not have time for an all-candidates debate but she had time today to head down to the beach for a little spring cleaning.

Frank Luba of the Province reported today that a stretch of Kitsilano Beach was targeted today in the first-ever spring school edition of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup and Premier Christy Clark was there in support of her son who participated.

Students from Henry Hudson Elementary, St. Augustine’s School and Pacific Rim Montessori spent a portion of the morning and afternoon cleaning up about a kilometre of the beach. The students collected 20 kilograms of litter including more than 600 cigarette butts, 220 food wrappers, 150 cups and lids and 179 plastic bags.
