Jackson’s Meats and Market Meats for weekly groceries.
Moule for pretty clothes
Maenam, Refuel, Zakkushi, and Noodle Box for eats.
All the stores in Kits are great!

I second the motion that Craftworks is a great store! If I haven’t made it myself, that’s the store I like to shop at.
Kidsbooks, Jackson’s, and Heart Attack & Vine are other local favourites.

I wish I could own every shoe at Gravity Pope.

The SPCA Thrift Store is full of oddball finds and an eccenric (but kind) staff. They’ve always got a fancy treat for my dog.

A recent find I’ve been sharing with friends and strangers alike is “Craftworks” @ 2208 west 4th ave. at Yew St. It’s a shop that sells wonderful creations by “…individuals working to overcome physical disability and/or mental illness(es)” allowing them “…the opportunity to increase self-esteem, personal growth and creative skills, while providing them supplemental income through participation.” http://www.3hcraftworks.com

I bought a toque from there and I absolutely love it! Beautiful creations and such a great cause.

I like Arbutus Coffee. Such a unique local coffee shop off the main streets, alsways filled with locals – beats starbucks any day!

I have been shopping at the Apple Market (Broadway@MacDonald) fpr many years now. I remember years ago when they were a smaller shop, then they expanded into the space that opened next door to them. The people who work there are always friendly, the produce is good quality, and their prices can’t be beat! They know my family, and my kids rarely leave without a treat from one of the nice ladies at the cash register.

Another favourite Kitsilano hangout is Hoshi Sushi (Broadway@MacDonald). We pay a visit to them at least once a week, ’cause they really know how to make a great seafood motoyaki! They know our family’s order off by heart: Tray C with an extra order of 4 tomago (for my 3 year-old daughter)!

I support Jackson’s, 100%. Every household in Vancouver (except the veggie houses) deserves a top-notch butcher with fair prices and impeccable customer service. Every time I go to Jackson’s I’m impressed with their selection, their knowledge and most of all the value for money. You can buy way better meat (better cuts and non-medicated livestock) at Jackson’s for the same price or less as IGA or Safeway.

I try to support all of the business in Kits as much as possible by ‘buying local’ whenever I can. I’m new to the area and so still discovering Kits and would love to continue my discovery tour with a Travellers Deck!
