West Broadway loses books, gains bubble tea

I hate to see a bookstore close. The Book Warehouse location on West Broadway in Kits was being dismantled today. This comes as no surprise to those who frequented the store, which was in outlet “liquidation” mode for some time. I bought so many books there that were unexpected surprise finds. Shame. Still, two nearby locations (West 4th and Point Grey) can fill the void for Broadway Kits book shoppers who cannot find what they’re looking for at Kidsbooks, Pulp Fiction, Carson’s or Brigid’s.

I recently posted about Dolcetto closing up. It seems that Orange Counter Crepes and Bubble Tea will be opening soon in its spot.  I’m aware there is an Orange Counter on 41st in Kerrisdale and, although I’ve not eaten there, there always seems to be a customer or two inside when I pass by. Keep your eyes peeled for their opening.

  1. Aw, nuts. And Book Warehouse replaced the still-lamented Hola Churro. I’m starting to think that particular spot of retail is cursed to keep breaking my heart.
