The weather might not be ideal for swimming outdoors but this weekend the Vancouver Park Board officially opens its bathing beaches for the season and this includes the Kitsilano Pool. For those of you new to the neighbourhood, Kits Pool is the only salt water pool in Vancouver and one of the few in the world.
The keeners will be lined up for the noon opening on Saturday but the rest of us will likely wait until summer finally arrives. Here’s the 2009 Kits Pool schedule and don’t forget host swimming lessons as well.

I never realized how big that pool actually is. Looks cool from a bird’s view.
Does this mean that the 2nd beach pool is opening soon too? I noticed they cleaned up all the shells and added water recently.
Laps at Kits pool are a killer. Maybe this year I can get past 8 in a row without worrying about drowning.
