Real Estate Showdown: Lumen vs. Mantra

1186

Mailboxes in Kitsilano are constantly being assaulted with reams of junk mail but this week two real estate marketing postcards caught my eye. Lumen and Mantra has choosen to go head-to-head by marketing their new developments at exactly the same time and driving locals to their presentation centres that are within two blocks of each other on Pine Street between West 3rd and West 5th.

I haven’t had a chance to check out the display suites of either development but I thought I’d ask our readers to comment on this post if they have. Which site do you prefer? Which development is priced more aggressively? Talk to us.

well, i’ve just checked out both the websites, and on just that , I’d say Mantra gives a better first impression. Why? Because they have all the floorplans listed so you can see them! Their website was less flashy/show-offy too which I happen to like. I did notice that the outside of each of these buildings look exactly the same….was that on purpose? Im going to check out the presentation centers this weekend and see for myself! also the word “lumen” isnt the most flattering word in the dictionary either – 1. The International unit of luminous flux ( a lumen is a small unit of measure). 2. the inner, open space or cavity of a tubular organ. ie: intestine or blood vessel….Nice…..we can live in a tiny little lumen for how much??

I havent seen the pricing yet, but they will of course e comparable. It would make no sense for one project to try to get a higher price then the other project.

That said, at first glance, Lumen seems like it has a MUCH better location then Mantra. 3rd ave is going to be a alot more quiet then 4th ave.
