Let me come right out and say it: I like the baby stores on West 4th. Having a toddler in the family probably contributes greatly to this fact, and I’m sure that if this wasn’t the case, I’d be grumbling about them along with the rest of you.

In the last few months, Hipbaby (2110 West 4th) has been standing out from the baby store crowd with some unusual and frequently changing window displays. Turns out they are designed and constructed by Visual Merchandising students from The Art Institute of Vancouver‘s Fashion Marketing & Managing program. While the resulting displays can be a little hit-and-miss (with the current display in the “hit” category), I really like this initiative.
